John Keating

John Keating also known as Johnny Keating is a world renowned composer and arranger.

Born in The Royal Mile, Edinburgh in 1927,he rose from the humble beginnings to the heights of the music world in London and Hollywood as an arranger for ' The Ted Heath Band' to conducting The London Symphony Orchestra to composing the music for major Hollywood films 'Hotel' and 'Robbery'. In the 60's he had hit records with Adam Faith, Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis Jnr and many more. John also had a No2 hit with his own band with the traditional song 'Johnny Todd' better know as the theme from Z Cars. In the seventies John was in the charts for fourteen weeks with The London Symphony Orchestra and his album 'Space Experience' which was an award winning album still considered by many to be at the frontier of the synthesiser. John is now 82 and suffers from Lewy Body Disease, and this site is designed to keep his music alive and to remind people of the genius that is John Keating.
